William states that he returned home to Franklin Co in 1783, thus indicating his parents were still there. and soon after married Amy Duggard. Listed in North Carolina Troops: 1861-1865 as N. F. Davis. Enlisted on April 20, 1864 and died near Danville, Va. on or about August 17, 1864 of chronic diarrhea. Served in Co. B, 34th Regiment, the same one that Hamby and Simon was in but neither would have been there by the time Nathan got there.
