Cleveland Gardner's notes: Lewis and his wife resided at several different places in this county, but finally settled and died on what is now known as the Lewis Evans homestead situated about one mile and a half Southwest of Lawndale and near the homestead of Beulic Hicks. They had no children. Both lived to a good old age.
